Hot Honey Roasted Chicken

Take a simple, juicy roasted chicken and amplify the heat by basting it with our signature hot honey, garlic, and butter. You can make your honey a delectable dinner yet still keep it quick and straightforward with our version of a savory roasted whole chicken.

Hot Honey Roasted Chicken
Ingredients:
1 Roasting Chicken
3 Tablespoons of Savannah Bee Hot Honey (Pick up at Bonnes Amies Kitchen)
1 Lemon, halved
1 halved head of garlic plus two cloves of garlic
A bunch of thyme
1 Stick of Butter, softened
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. While the oven heats, prepare the chicken. First, rinse the chicken inside and out and remove any leftover feathers. You do not need any of the innards.
3. Thoroughly dry the outside of the chicken with paper towels. This will help the skin become crispy.
4. Stuff the chicken cavity inside with the halved garlic, halved lemon, and thyme.
5. Next, separate the skin from the chicken by running your hand in between the layers. You will take approximately three tablespoons of the softened butter and spread it in between the skin and the chicken.
6. Last, thoroughly coat the outside of the chicken with your salt and pepper.
7. Place the chicken breast side up in the oven to begin roasting.
8. While the chicken roasts, you will prepare your basting liquids.
9. In a small saucepan, combine the remaining butter, three tablespoons of Hot Honey, and the remaining minced garlic.
10. Heat the mixture over medium heat until the garlic is fragrant. Turn the heat down to low.
11. You will baste your chicken with the Hot Honey liquid every fifteen minutes.
12. Cook the chicken for approximately 1 1/2 hours or until the juices run clear. Check the juices by slicing in between the leg and body.
