Inspired by Navajo, Zuni, and Hopi cultures, these designs reflect an unexpected contemporary energy, setting creations a step ahead of tradition. Incorporating his mastery as a silversmith and talent as an artist in "stretching the Imagination of creativity...It's all about the colors of the stones, how they mix with metals, and nature's use of light."….Featured in the finest galleries across the southwest come in and let us show you our new pieces designed by a New Mexico silversmith and talented artist.
Now is the time to start making your Christmas Wish these are very special!

Hand Coiled Hand Painted Pottery

New in this week! These hand coiled, hand painted and hand fired pots are filled with unique and traditional design. Hand painted birds, animals and traditional geometric designs seem to almost jump off of the pottery walls. Each piece is signed by artist. Painting is still widely used to decorate pots in the Southwest. An addition to your collection to be proud of!
Inspired by pottery from the ancient city of Paquimé, which traded as far north as New Mexico and Arizona and throughout northern Mexico, modern potters are producing work for national and international sale. This new artistic movement is due to the efforts of Juan Quezada, the self-taught originator of modern Mata Ortiz pottery, his extended family and neighbors.
The butterfly is a symbol of renewal and often these pots are given to a new mother, as a wedding gift to a daughter, or to someone going on a new venture in Native American culture. The piece is passed from generation to generation and always has a good meaning to each person it is handed down to.
Each animal is called a Totem and is a symbolism in the artist's work...love the buffalo carving on this great pot! Any pottery that is made always has a good meaning even if it has a snake, lizard, insects, etc. Come and take a look at this wonderful pottery!

Birch Logs Are In For The Season

We have been waiting and waiting for these great birch logs...love them filling our old wheelbarrow. You can cut them and fill a great large basket by your fireplace or your porch...I love the idea of wiring a few together and have them running down your table for the Fall and Christmas season with pinecones, pine garland, and red berries intertwining throughout them. And certainly think they would be gorgeous worked in on a porch entry in large urns with freshly cut pine, cedar, and large sugar forest pinecones. Use your imagination! When they are gone they are gone!

New Artwork In...

Recently in is new art with beautiful subtle colors and tones....heavily made copper patina frames and very nice prints at great prices. These pieces are large and narrow perfect for mantles or large open walls. Love the realistic art above with the large red oak tree. Beautiful art for a home or office.

Wonderful Old Finds...Farmhouse Dough Bowls, Olive Jars, Bottle Racks

One of my favorite companies has just shipped in some wonderful old finds for your home. Collected from all over Turkey these terracotta jars were used for storage of olives, oils, and grains, and were traditionally buried to preserve their contents in colder temperatures. Glazing colors traditionally range from green to amber. Each jar is vintage and bears individual marks of use and history. I can see our great birch logs in them and fall garlands and leaves draping out of them...put one of these great jars on a large table, hearth, or corner. Each one is unique and interesting!
In the first half of the 20th century, Magyar bakers at farmhouses in Hungary and other Eastern European countries used these hand-carved, antique wooden bowls to make bread. Each bowl is vintage and bears individual marks of use and history. These dough bowls are large and wonderful...what do you do with them? Put them on a large farmhouse table filled with pumpkins and straw...fill them with fresh cedar & pine greenery and paperwhites at Christmas...I can see one tucked underneath a large wooden coffee table filled with books and magazines. Better yet wouldn't it be great leaning up high on a kitchen hutch or screwed into a large open wall and surrounded with antique platters? Love these...
Have always wanted one of these european bottle racks in my kitchen...Love these Vietri mugs hanging on it but also perfect for juice glasses and even one or two beautiful tea towels. These are always useful in a kitchen I can certainly see it on an island as well.

A Dressy Formal Home Ready For The Holidays

A dressy formal house that holds a genuine and warm couple. The personality of their home radiates their interest in the appreciation of art, antiques, and special family heirlooms. She loves seasonal touches, majolica, and their family history. Now she is looking forward to a family Thanksgiving gathering and her home is ready for the occasion.
Love these soft red walls so pretty with these dark antique pieces and beautiful items they have collected...

Each piece of art they have collected has it's own story..the barn in this painting was a piece of land owned by her family that housed one of the first quarter horses introduced to Texas...every collection has a special story which is so neat to pass on to other generations.
This great large lantern in the kitchen on her island is a great focal point for a seasonal touch. Bright yellow and orange mums are tucked in an aged urn and surrounded by her brown transferware dishes and a sweet teapot recently gave to her by her mother that was a wedding gift in the 1930's.
Their formal entry room is so pretty and very dressy. Love this glittery gourd garland draped across this large mantle...what a beautiful room! The portrait painting above the mantle is a family ancestor...it's as though you could sit and have a conversation with him in this room.
Collection of lusterware jugs on coffee table for a Fall touch...

This tall arrangement of red maple leaves, green acorn leaves, and pine picks tucked in an antique painted urn looks so pretty on this antique buffet. Art books left open leave the room filling warm and inviting...

Entry table that is inviting as well love these droopy rose buds and fall leaves greeting you as you enter...
Fall collection behind sofa...
Mantle in the living room a little bit of Fall tucked here and there...

Her majolica collection on this antique piece is so pretty and appealing...Especially love the cloche covering a sweet majolica pitcher filled with bittersweet and orange sunflowers.
