Our favorite cookies have arrived and so good with our freshly ground Christmas coffee! Also so pretty wrapped up with other kitchen goodies!! These make a simple yet amazing gift that everyone loves…
The word “bizcocho” is used for any number of baked goods in Spanish, depending on where you find yourself. But one etymological offshoot, the biscochito, is an icon: a simple, mildly sweet, flaky, cookie with notes of anise and cinnamon born in New Mexico when it was still a Spanish colony. The cookie is a mainstay during the holidays, and is usually eaten after meals with coffee. It is one of the definitive icons of the simple, hardy cuisine of one of the least-known culinary traditions in America.

Bonnes Amies Sugar Cookie Recipe💚👩‍🍳❤️

Bonnes Amies Sugar Cookie Recipe...Our Madeline won first place at the fair with this cookie recipe. Don’t forget your Mexican Vanilla Bean Paste from our shop kitchen!
2-1/4 cups sugar
1 cup real butter (softened)
3 eggs
3 T. milk
1-1/2 tsp. Best Mexican Vanilla or Paste (Pick Up Your Bottle At Bonnes Amies...the paste leaves tiny flecks of vanilla bean in your dough which enhances the flavor of the cookie)
4-7/8 cups flour
3-3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
Mix sugar, butter, eggs, milk & Mexican Vanilla. Mix dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture. Roll out and cut into shapes. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 400˚ for 5-8 min.
(I like to chill my dough first if using cookie cutters to keep the shape better)
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp. Mexican Vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
4 cups powdered sugar
Add a few tsp. milk if needed for consistency. Beat until smooth. Yum!
Just one tablespoon of Mexican Vanilla Bean Paste from Blue Cattle Truck provides your recipes with the flavor comparable to a whole vanilla bean. If your recipe calls for a teaspoon of vanilla, use a teaspoon of paste instead. This paste not only gives your recipes a rich and concentrated vanilla flavor, but it has the vanilla "caviar" seeds that add to the appearance and aroma of your dishes. With the thick consistency, you can use this paste to add more delicious Mexican vanilla flavor to batter and sauces without thinning them out.
