Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake🫐🇺🇸

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake
This premium blueberry jam is crafted from small-batch batches of wild Maine blueberries known for their deep color and concentrated flavor. Unlike cultivated berries, these wild blueberries offer a naturally intense sweetness that makes this jam a standout among classic fruit spreads.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups granulated sugar
2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs, beaten lightly
1 cup sour cream
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
1 13-ounce jar Stonewall Kitchen Wild Maine Blueberry Jam, stirred well
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350° F.
Butter a 10-inch bundt pan and lightly dust the inside with flour.
Sift together and set aside the flour, baking powder and salt.
In a mixer, or by hand, cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, blending well, and then add sour cream and vanilla. Mix until combined.
Gradually fold in flour, baking powder, and salt into creamed mixture until just blended.
Reserve 1/2 cup of batter and mix with 3/4 of the jar of Wild Maine Blueberry Jam.
Pour 3/4 remaining batter into the prepared pan, smoothing to the edges and creating a slight "trough" with a spatula.
Gently spoon the blueberry mix into the batter trough, being careful not to touch the side of the pan.
Spread the remaining batter over the jam and smooth the top.
Set pan on middle rack in the oven and bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until the sides of the cake pull away from the pan and a cake tester (or toothpick) inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes. Turn onto a plate, sprinkle with confectioner's sugar, drizzle with remaining jam and enjoy!

Grandpa Pyper’s Vanilla Ice Cream

3 eggs

2 cups sugar

2 cans evaporated milk

2 pints cream

“smidgen” (1/4 tsp.) salt

3 T. Blue Cattle Truck Mexican Vanilla

2 cups milk

Mix eggs, sugar, and 1-1/2 cans evaporated milk. Stir constantly and heat until scalded, but not boiling. Remove from heat and cool in refrigerator. When cold, pour into ice cream can, add remaining ingredients and mix in ice cream machine.

When it comes to great pasta, we go straight to the source: the skilled Italian artisans of Montebello. Using old-world techniques, they craft pasta in its purest, simplest form, starting with a dough made from only spring water and semolina flour that’s organically grown on family farms surrounding an idyllic, 14th-century monastery. The result is authentic pasta that cooks up evenly, holds sauce beautifully and is bite-for-bite as delicious as homemade.

Southwest Pasta Salad
Ingredients
For the pasta salad-
4 ounces Montebello Tricolor Fusilli, Fusilli or Penne Rigate (Pick up in Bonnes Amies kitchen)
1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
1 avocado, peeled, pit removed and diced
1 cup canned black beans, rinsed and drained
2 cups cooked corn kernels
2 Tablespoons scallions, minced
6 cups baby arugula
12 ounces grilled chicken, shredded into bite size pieces
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Salt and pepper
For the dressing-
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1 Tablespoon fresh lime juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2-1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper or Chili Powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and allow to cool (if in a hurry you can run cold water over the pasta, drain well).
In a large serving bowl combine pasta, bell pepper, tomatoes, avocado, black beans, corn, scallions, arugula, and chicken.
For the dressing whisk together in a small bowl the Chipotle Aioli, sour cream, lime juice and salt and pepper.
Drizzle dressing over pasta salad ingredients and add the cilantro. Toss until all ingredients are lightly coated. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.

Charlie's Glasses♥️💃

We often talk about our amazing & inspiring friend Charlie and his beautiful glassware we carry at the shop. We have known him for over twenty years and admire him greatly. When you buy his glassware you also support the amazing artisans that create them. Recently he sent us pictures of a table set for dinner so we wanted to share his beauty.

“The first is of an appetizer at a casual afternoon comida in San Miguel de Allende. The second is of the dessert. Both have the table landscape behind. I got so excited when the main course came that I forgot to take a Picture.

The bottom Picture is of me. In my forty five years before coming to San Miguel de Allende, I wore a tux once. San Miguel is not the laidback, casual town that I once knew.”

** Charles, 62, is pictured with Suerte (Luck), one of his rescue dogs, inside his home in San Miguel de Allende, in Mexico’s Guanajuato state. Hall has had rescue dogs most of his life. He decided to adopt Suerte after he found her abandoned by her family at his vet’s office. In 2005, Hall and family members started Exportadora Camino Norte (ECN), the exclusive Mexico producer of products for his mother’s U.S. brand company, known for its handmade candles and intricately carved glass tableware and accessories that incorporate designs from across Mexico. The company is also known for its commitment to giving fulfilling jobs to disabled people, like Hall, who was born with multiple congenital disabilities, with no arms below the elbows, numerous facial anomalies (including some paralysis) and speech issues, a condition classified as Moebius Syndrome. At his birth, the doctors told his parents their newborn would not survive beyond a month, maybe two, because of his partial facial paralysis. As Charlie persevered, doctors cautioned that their son wouldn't walk or talk. Sixty-two years later, Hall has a story to tell that he hopes can resonate with everyone and help other people living with disabilities.
