PROCEDURE TO HAND MAKE THE TEXTILES

This is an elaborate process done by one weaver using a foot pedal treadle loom or back loom without the use of electricity. To make 120 yards of the textile it involves the following process:

~ One week to dye the thread colors

~ Two weeks to prepare the pattern designs

~ One week for the preparation of all the threads

~ One week to combine the threads according to the width of the textile in the loom

~ Two weeks to make the textile

When Guatemalan artisans weave their richly colored textiles, they bring to life designs their Mayan ancestors adapted from Spanish Conquistadors in the 16th century.

Infused with regional color schemes and motifs, they are like no other textiles in the world and are still worn daily by the people of Guatemala. We have long collected Guatemalan textiles and their beauty and originality inspired us to launch a line of unique products while providing a new market for Guatemalan textile artists.

A Rustic Western Home

 A busy career woman and her retired husband are settling into their new home. They enjoy visiting their ranch, entertaining company and keeping life simple. Her desire was for us to combine her treasured mother's antiques, and his collectibles with their western rustic style. Everything fit together  and flows comfortably a beautiful home!

 A family antique in the entry worked up very pretty with an assortment of rustic eclectic items...

 His family victrola worked in with her western art...her brothers old tiny boots fit perfectly under a glass cloche.

 Her mother's blue and white Spode that she had fond memories of is now a collection around this little antique clock worked perfectly.

 Her favorite colors are navy blues and royal...these dishes worked perfectly in her family maple hutch at the end of her pine farmhouse table....

 Bookcases filled with his history & western books and her family collections of special mementos...
