Pink & Brown Toile Bedroom

Toile is a word that entered the English language around the 16th century from a French word meaning "linen cloth" or "canvas" — particularly cloth or canvas for painting on. Toile de Jouy originated in France in the late 1700s. In the French language, the phrase literally means "cloth from Jouy-en-Josas", a town of north-central France.

Love, love, love this Jack Arnold pink & brown French inspired toile room. The pink striped skirt & pink silk bedspread seem to soften the dark browns and blacks. The over-indulged skirt on this wonderful antique bed seems to be the focal point of the picture doesn't it? Let us help design your room and bed with our wonderful fabrics and bedding.
